RFQ 2026011 - Reynolds School Asbestos Abatement

The Reynolds School located at 1316 Reynolds Street; Key West, Monroe County, Florida is a historically significant former educational institution. Built in 1927, it was originally established as one of the first elementary schools in the Florida Keys. The main building is constructed primarily of exterior and interior loadbearing red brick and clay terracotta tile walls and steel trusses with wood plank decking at the roof. A concrete one-story building was added to the rear of the property in 1950. The buildings are currently vacant. Monroe County School District is looking to adaptively reuse the original 1927 building for Adult Education and Maintenance Administration, demolish the 1950 addition, and construct a new one-story building for Maintenance Trades.
