MNBC's Ministry of Education Early Years Annual Conference is seeking proposals for venues and suppliers for upcoming conferences. Early Learning Professionals from inside and outside the Métis Nation will come together for a weekend of Métis professional development, collaboration, and networking.
This conference will focus on supporting children with diverse abilities through a Métis lens, as well connecting learning to nature and natural elements. Educators will learn how spending time in nature can have profound effects on children’s overall health, mood stability, self-regulation, mental well-being, cogitative development, social skills, sense of belonging, and overall health and wellness.
The conference will allow MNBC to:
• Support high quality Métis-specific culture knowledge and learning experiences for Early Learning and Child Care (ELCC) Professionals.
• Increases ELCC professionals' knowledge in promoting safe and inclusive environments for Métis children, staff, and families.
• Assists in networking and ongoing recruitment and retention of qualified Métis individuals as early childhood educators, or other early learning and child care professionals, within the ELCC sector.
• Brings together Métis staff, Elders, educators, and professionals who work with young children and their families.
Prospective Dates: Choice #1: October 2-3, 2026 Choice #2: October 16-17, 2026
