NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITVE PROPOSALS.
The United States Department of the Interior (DOI), Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA), Northwest Region Office (NWRO), intends to enter into a Sole Source Firm-Fixed Price contract with Yakama Power, a Tribally Owned Business. The Wapato Irrigation Project (WIP) requires a power service change from single phase power to three phase power. The electrical switchgear, components and motors are currently being repaired under an urgent and compelling contract. This will require the replacement of a three (3) phase 277/480-volt power meter with a power capacity of 150kva at the Unit Two Pump House under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) Soliciting from a Single Source.

Yakama Power is the sole source electric utility company providing electrical service to the Wapato Irrigation Project's Toppenish Creek Pumping Plant (TCPP). The repair work will require additional support and can only be completed by Yakama Power as the sole source of electricity for this area. No solicitation is available and no technical questions will be answered for this requirement. The NAICS code for this acquisition is 221122 Electric Power Distribution, and the Business Size Standard is 1,100 Employees. If a firm believes that BIA should not pursue this procurement, it should submit a capability statement and pricing information for this requirement by 7 March 2025, 12:00 PST.
