LONG TERM PROTECTED GOPHER TORTOISE CONSERVATION RECIPIENT SITE(S) FOR FLORIDA’S TURNPIKE ENTERPRISE

The Florida Department of Transportation, Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise (Department), is soliciting written Bids from qualified Bidders to establish one or more Contracts for the provision of all labor, materials, equipment, and incidentals necessary for Long Term Protected Gopher Tortoise Conservation Recipient Site(s) to accept gopher tortoises from donor site(s) located within Department’s SR 589 Suncoast Parkway 2 Phase 3B from CR 495 to US 19 (FPID 442764-3) project in Citrus County. The approximate midpoint of the project alignment is located at 28°57'34.50"N 82°36'23.79"W.  The Department is seeking a recipient  or multiple recipient sites that can accept up to one hundred ninety-one (191) gopher tortoises with  the potential capacity to accept additional gopher tortoises as required with future permit amendments. However, the Department may accept bids for less than the required one hundred ninety-one (191) gopher tortoises and reserves the right to retain multiple recipient sites to meet the needs of this project.
