REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS (RFP)

ELEVATOR MODERNIZATION SERVICES

The Town of Chatham, Massachusetts, the “Awarding Authority” or “Owner”, invites sealed bids from qualified elevator contractors for the modernization of one existing hydraulic passenger elevator at the Chatham Center for Active Living (CFAL), 193 Stony Hill Road, Chatham, Massachusetts. The work includes furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, permits, testing, inspections, and closeout documents required for a complete and operable installation. If the bid is more than $150,000 the contractor must be Certified by Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance (DCAMM) in the elevator category of work and submit with their bid a current DCAMM Certificate of Eligibility. All bids for this Project are subject to the provisions of Massachusetts General Laws, M.G.L., c.149, § 44A through 44L.

The successful General Bidder will be required to provide a performance bond, and a labor and materials payment bond, issued by a company authorized to do business in Massachusetts and satisfactory to the Awarding Authority, each bond being in the amount of 100 percent of the Contract Amount. The minimum wages to be paid for all labor on the project are established in a schedule issued by the Commissioner of Labor and Industries, in accordance with Section 26A through 27D inclusive, of Chapter 149 of the M.G.L., as amended, said schedule being made a part of the Contract Documents and is included therein.

Materials, equipment and supplies to be used on this project are exempt from sales tax to the extent provided by M.G.L. Chapter 64H, Section 6(f). The bidder agrees that its bid shall be good and may not be withdrawn for a period of 45 days, Saturdays, Sundays and legal holidays excluded, after the opening of the bids. A Pre-Bid Site Walk and Field Verification will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at 10:00 AM on site, all prospective bidders are strongly recommended to attend. Sealed proposals must be received by June 5, 2026, at 2:00 PM. The Town of Chatham reserves the right to waive any informalities, to accept or reject, in whole or in part, any or all bids, or take whatever other action may be deemed to be in the best interest of the Town of Chatham.
