Wave Auction

The City of Galesburg has launched its online public auction to sell a retired city vehicle. The auction is being conducted online via Purple Wave Auction and is open for bidding now through Tuesday, August 18, 2026. The item is being sold using a "no-reserve" format, meaning every asset will be sold to the highest bidder regardless of the final price.

Bidders can view item and place bids by creating a free account on the Purple Wave website, and there is no fee required to register or participate. While registration is free, winning bidders should note that a standard 10% buyer’s premium will be added to the final winning bid for all purchases. Once the auction closes, successful bidders will be notified via email and issued an invoice for payment.

After payment is fully processed, buyers will receive a paid receipt allowing them to arrange for pick-up of the item, which are located in Galesburg, IL.
