The City of Lawrence, Kansas, seeks qualified vendors to provide comprehensive structured cabling services at designated municipal facilities. Services may include, but are not limited to, the installation of copper and fiber optic cabling, patch panels, telecommunications racks and cabinets, fiber backbone infrastructure, wireless access point mounting, and security camera mounting at various City facilities.
The City of Lawrence, Kansas maintains a diverse portfolio of municipal facilities that rely on secure, efficient, and high‑performance network connectivity to support daily operations, public services, and technology‑driven initiatives. As the City continues to modernize its infrastructure and expand the use of digital systems—including communications, data management, security technologies, and public‑facing services—the reliability and capacity of the underlying network cabling systems have become increasingly critical. In order to sustain service quality, support expanding technology needs, and ensure future scalability, the City seeks a qualified vendor or vendors to provide comprehensive network cabling services across multiple municipal properties.
This Request for Proposals (RFP) is issued to identify a vendor capable of delivering professional installation, testing, certification, and documentation of network cabling systems that align with industry best practices and current ANSI/TIA standards. By establishing a robust and uniform cabling foundation, the City aims to enhance reliability, reduce long‑term maintenance challenges, strengthen security‑related infrastructure, and support continued innovation in municipal service delivery.
