Bucks County Free Library Request for Proposal – Library Materials and Related Value-Added Services
Addendum 1
01/16/2026
1. Has the original RFP been extended to acquire more responses or is this a new RFP release?
a. This is not a new release, but a reposting of the RFP with immaterial edits. The bids
received in November were found non-responsive, which necessitated this reposting.
Please note that while we are seeking bids for processing, we are not seeking material
processing for AV at this time.
2. Will the terms of a resultant bid/agreement automatically extend to each of the 11 independent
libraries, or is it that the terms may be extended upon request from one of the independent
libraries?
“As a designated Pennsylvania public library district and system,
the Bucks County Free Library collaborates on county wide projects,
shares a public catalog, and provides collection development,
materials processing, cataloging, and delivery services to 11
additional independent libraries in Bucks County. These libraries are
independently governed and managed by their local boards and
directors.”
a. The terms of the resulting agreement will automatically extend to the 11 independent
libraries within the Bucks County District. As the District Center, Bucks County Free
Library (BCFL)-Doylestown provides centralized administration and ordering for the
district. While staff at the 11 independent libraries select materials based on their
specific local needs, all final orders are processed and submitted centrally by BCFL’s
collection management staff.
3. Does this mean that any vendor that responded back in November should formally respond
once again?
a. Yes. All interested vendors are required to submit a new formal bid to be considered.
Bidders must demonstrate they can meet the total service needs of the project, which
include (but are not limited to) providing adult and children’s books, efficient
turnaround times, and necessary processing. Please note that we are not accepting bids
for AV material at this time.
