Description


Sealed Bids for furnishing all materials, labor, tools, equipment and appurtenances necessary for the installation of the Town Creek Reservoir Dam Down Drain Repairs (the ¿Project¿) will be received by the Macon Water Authority (the ¿Owner¿), at the Macon Water Authority, 537 Hemlock Street, Human Resources Training Room, Macon, Georgia 31201 until 10:00 A.M., local time _August 12, 2025 and then at said office publicly opened and read aloud. All bidders must attend a mandatory pre-bid meeting at the Amerson Water Treatment Plant, 703 Riverbend Drive, Macon, GA 31211 at 10:00 A.M. on _July 29th, 2025. All bidder questions must be submitted to the Owner by 10:00 A.M. on August 5, 2025. Bidder should attend the pre-bid meeting in its entirety.

The Project generally consists of:
1.        Installing erosion and sediment perimeter control BMPs
2.        Installing right abutment drain:
a.        Excavating to existing abutment drain
b.        Determine extents of seepage
c.        Establish subgrade and install new drain material
d.        Backfill drain field
e.        Re-dress gravel access road
3.        Repairing existing down drain:
a.        Excavating and removing existing corrugated plastic pipe down drain
b.        Installing new 16¿ HDPE down drain and concrete headwall.
c.        Backfilling and compacting soil over newly installed down drain conduit
d.        Place topsoil and establish permanent turf within disturbed area

Copies of Contract Documents may be requested from the Engineer (Freese and Nichols, 360 Interstate N. Parkway, Suite 250, Atlanta, Georgia 30339, via email at max.bloom@freese.com). No partial sets of bidding documents shall be issued. Bidders must request the Contract Documents in order to be eligible to submit a bid. Bid documents on the MWA website are for informational purposes only.
