NOTICE TO BIDDERS
The Chickasaw County Board of Supervisors will receive sealed bids in the office of the
County Purchase Clerk, 146 County Road 412, Houston, Mississippi 38851, or bids may be
submitted electronically at (Agencybidbank.com) until 10:00 A.M., 30, October, 2026, and
thereafter publicly opened for the furnishing, hauling, placing, and compacting of bituminous
hot mix and performing as-needed base repairs, and removing and replacing roadway cross-
drains.
Sealed bids shall be received on each of the following items. Work order (s) shall be
issued for individual assignments with payment to be made under the appropriate quantity unit
pricing. Each work order shall be completed within 45 calendar days of the date of the work
order.

Note: Asphalt Bid Prices shall include furnishing materials and labor, compaction, hauling,
taxes and bonds as necessary to complete the work as specified. The asphalt shall be an MDOT
approved mix as shown in a mix transfer request. Asphalt Fuel Adjustments shall be made in
accordance to the latest Mississippi State Highway Department Special Provisions.

Minor Base Repair - 10" excavation replaced with Type V Geotextile Fabric, 6" of compacted
Crushed Stone (610) and 4" of compacted 9.5mm Asphalt.
Major Base Repair - 14" excavation replaced with Type V Geotextile Fabric, 10" of compacted
Crushed Stone (610) and 4" of compacted 9.5 mm Asphalt

Note: Base Repair shall include all excavation and disposal regardless of material
encountered, furnishing the required materials, compaction, hauling, taxes and bonds

Pipe excavation shall extend to a minimum of 1' beyond the pipe walls. The bid price shall
include the disposal of the excavated material. The pipe backfill shall be entirely crushed stone
with 6" of stone bedding under the pipe. The taxes, excavation, haul, pipe and backfill shall be
included in the per LF price of each pipe.

General Notes:
1. Envelopes containing bids must be sealed and marked on the outside: Bid for
Chickasaw County Road Supplies and Services, November 2nd, 2026 at 10:00
a.m. The outside of the bid envelope shall also contain the Contractor's Certificate of
Responsibility number.
2. BID PRICES ACCEPTED SHALL BE FOR A PERIOD OF 12 MONTHS November 2,
2026 until November 2, 2027.
3. The Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any and all
formalities in the best interest of the County. Insurance requirements and contracts
will be provided to the selected Contractor for execution.
4. The Contractor will be responsible for contacting the Mississippi 811 services and
locating any existing utilities prior to performing any excavations.
5. A detailed set of plan drawings will not be provided for the described work, but a
general scope and location will be presented by the Owner prior to the date of the
issuance of a work order.
6. The Owner will be responsible for MDOT permitting if required.
7. Bid opening will be held at 10:00 A.M. on November 2nd, 2026 at Chickasaw County
Courthouse in Houston MS.
