NOTICE OF TAKING BIDS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE TYSON EVENTS CENTER PLAZA SLAB VOID REMEDIATION PROJECT (PROJECT NO. 7522-549-166), IN SIOUX CITY, IOWA.

Sealed Bids will be received by the City Purchasing Office, Room 408 of  City Hall for the Tyson Events Center Plaza Slab Void Remediation Project until 3:00 P.M., Local Time, December 16, 2025, for the construction of the project. The project is located the Tyson Events Center, 401 Gordon Drive and includes the remediation of voids below a portion of the events center’s plaza and close to the building foundations. After remediation is completed, the plaza slab will be reconstructed.

A pre-bid meeting will be held on December 9, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at the south side of the Tyson Events Center near the steps.  It is strongly recommended that the contractor attends the pre-bid meeting, and/or visit the site prior to bidding.

The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder.  However, the City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, re-advertise for new bids and to waive informalities that may be in the best interest of the City. By virtue of statutory authority, a preference will be given to products and provisions grown and coal produced within the state of Iowa and to Iowa domestic labor.

This project shall begin immediately upon receipt of the Notice to Proceed. Work shall be completed within 55 Working Days.  There is a late start date of  May 1, 2026.

Specifications for this project shall be the 2025 version of the Iowa Statewide Urban Standard Specifications for Public Improvements modified in accordance with the 2024 version of the City of Sioux City Supplement.
