NEW MIDDLE SCHOOL BUILDING PROJECT
FOR PREQUALIFIED BIDDERS ONLY
The Town of Longmeadow on behalf of Longmeadow Public Schools is soliciting Bids from prequalified DCAMM contractors that were prequalified for Plumbing, through the RFQ prequalification solicitation that had a deadline of June 5, 2026 deadline. The construction project is a Construction Manager at Risk Project under MGL Ch. 149A,§8. The General Contractor that the awarded bidder will contract with is Fontaine Brothers, Incorporated of Springfield, Massachusetts.
The General overall project description is: A +-135,534 sq ft new construction middle school building located at 410 Williams Street, Longmeadow, MA 01106. Construction is anticipated to begin with some early release packages as early as June 2026 with a project duration of 32 months. This bid is only for the early plumbing package as outlined in the specifications of this bid. The general scope of work involves the relocation of gas lines and related plumbing. The project estimate is $40,000.

There will be an Optional Pre-Bid Conference at the new middle school construction site located at 410 Williams Street, Longmeadow, Massachusetts on Thursday, August 20, 2026 beginning at 10:00am.

Bid documents can also be obtain online through the Purchasing Department page of the Town website: www.longmeadowma.gov . Bid submissions shall be delivered by the bid deadline in a sealed envelope labeled ‘IFB- Plumbing Early Release Package, ERP3’ on the outer envelope, along with bidder’s contact information. Sealed bids shall be delivered to the Longmeadow Purchasing Department at the address listed above, and will be accepted until the bid deadline of Tuesday, September 1, 2026 at 11:00am. A public bid opening will immediately follow. After bids are opened, no bid may be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) days.
A bid submission shall be accompanied with a bid deposit of not less than five percent (5%) of the total bid amount. Bid deposits shall be made payable to the ‘Town of Longmeadow’ in the form of a bid bond or a certified check, treasurer's check or cashier's check issued by a responsible bank or trust company. DCAMM contractor certification is required for all bidders that were prequalified for this project, and should include with their bid submission a copy of their DCAMM Certificate of Eligibility for the applicable trade. The DCAMM Update statements are already on file for prequalified bidders. The awarded contractors shall comply with payment of minimum labor wage rates as set forth under the provisions of M.G.L., Chapter 149, Sections 26 to 27H inclusive. A Performance Bond, and a Labor and Materials Payment Bond each in the amount of 100% will be required upon contract award.
The Town of Longmeadow acting through the Town Manager, the Awarding Authority and CPO reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive minor informalities, and award a contract in the best interest of the Town.
