Sole Source IDIQ Award for Locked Mental Health Services 7th Avenue Center, Santa Cruz, CA
Description:
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Network Contracting Office 21, on behalf of the VA Palo Alto Health Care System (VAPAHCS), has awarded a sole source Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract to 7th Avenue Center, located in Santa Cruz, California, for Community Nursing Home (CNH) locked mental health services.
This IDIQ contract has a ceiling not to exceed $749,999 and a period of performance of one (1) year. The facility provides locked, specialized mental health care for Veterans with severe psychiatric needs.
This contract ensures the continuity of care for four (4) Veterans currently placed at 7th Avenue Center. These Veterans are receiving critical locked mental health services that cannot be disrupted without jeopardizing their health and well-being. The sole source award is justified under FAR 6.302-1 Only One Responsible Source, as 7th Avenue Center is the only known facility in the region capable of delivering the required level of locked mental health care to meet VAPAHCS's clinical and geographic requirements.
This action is in compliance with VA policy governing CNH placements and acquisition and ensures that essential services continue without interruption.
