Atlantic Sturgeon Population & Habitat Use to Inform Infrastructure Improvements

Description of goods to services to be bid:

NYSERDA seeks proposals to support the determination of a multi-year record of Atlantic sturgeon presence in the greater New York City
region. This record will provide valuable and time-sensitive information to support effective decision-making for time-of-year restrictions, while
also maintaining a critical path for energy development activities.
NYSERDA seeks to negotiate one contract for acoustic receiver deployment, Atlantic sturgeon tagging, vessel use, data collection and
management, receiver loss and data integrity, and data sharing and communication to achieve this goal.

Eligibility/Qualifications Requirements/Preferences:

NYSERDA requests a qualified proposer to: 1) Deploy a minimum of three hundred (300) acoustic tags on New York Bight DPS Atlantic sturgeon
over the first two years of the project;2) Collaborate with New York Department of Environmental Conservation and other researchers maintaining
existing acoustic receivers to determine locations for up to 10 new receivers in the New York Harbor and surrounding waterways; 3) Manage data
collection for a minimum of 5 years; 4) Ensure that data is publicly available following QA/QC; and 5) Submit a final technical report to NYSERDA.

Required proposer qualifications: 1) Proposers must have a current ESA 10(a)(1)(A) permit to tag Atlantic sturgeon; 2) Proposers must have or
obtain a Marine Resources License to Collect or Possess.
