South Cross Bayou Replacement of Generator Controls and Switchgear (GEN2) (PID 004906A) - STEP 1

The work to be performed under these Contract Documents consists of the removal and replacement of four (4) 3200 ampere draw out generator circuit breakers and six (6) 2000 ampere draw out feeder circuit breakers in two (2) 277/480 volt, 3-phase, 4-wire switchgear lineups, each with a 6000-ampere main bus rating. The switchgear lineups and circuit breaker cells shall be reconditioned and modified, as required, for the new circuit breaker installations. Additionally, the work shall include the removal of six (6) free-standing, floor-mounted, generator/engine control cabinets and the control components contained within these cabinets. The installation work is located at the Pinellas County South Cross Bayou Advanced Water Reclamation Facility (SCBAWRF). The work shall be inclusive of all equipment, materials and work required for operational systems that are complete and fully tested.

The existing Electrical Switchgear has more than three decades of useful life at SCBAWRF. The system has exceeded its useful service life, is located in a highly corrosive environment, and needs to be replaced. This overall project is a four (4) year program to replace all twelve (12) electrical switchgear infrastructure components at the SCBAWRF. This specific project will serve as Phase 1 of the overall programmed work. Following the Phase 1 work, will be the remaining phases until all twelve (12) electrical switchgear infrastructure units at SCBAWRF are replaced. The complete work is programmed to be completed in four (4) years.
