2.2 Kitsap County Sewer Utility Division
Since the 1950s, the Kitsap County Sewer Utility has operated and maintained a wastewater
collection and treatment system serving communities across the Kitsap Peninsula. The system
includes gravity pipelines, force mains, manholes, inverted siphons, and pump stations that convey
wastewater to the regional treatment facility, the Central Kitsap Treatment Plant (CKTP). In addition
to treating wastewater from its primary service area, CKTP also processes solids from the
Manchester, Kingston, and Suquamish Wastewater Treatment Plants.
Title 13 of the Kitsap County Code establishes the regulatory framework governing the Sewer Utility
