GENERAL: C.W. Bill young Veterans Medical Center has a requirement for the Replacement of the Emergency Call System. The contractor will provide all labor, tools, materials, transportation, and supervision to replace the station emergency call system. This is to be a turn-key system. The Towers shall have two phone lines as designated by campus safety and OI&T. SCOPE: the replacement of the emergency call stations located at the C.W. Bill Young VA Medical Center. Contractor shall conduct the following work: The contractor shall supply all supervision, labor, and materials for this job. (Note, items due to become obsolete or not supported by the manufacturer are prohibited). Contractor is not to shut down or perform work without authorization from the COR. The contractor shall apply Lock Out Tag Out to all sources of energy. The contractor will complete all necessary tasks and present an itemized list of materials/parts will be presented to engineering for approval. This is to cover any unforeseen conditions that arise during the replacement process. The contractor shall coordinate with OI&T for any necessary phone lines or SIM cards and ensure proper operation. The contractor shall remove existing (8) emergency phone towers and (5) wall mounted emergency phones. The contractor shall be responsible for replacing any land lines found not in operation. The contractor shall provide and install (8) emergency cellular phone towers. The contractor shall supply and install (5) emergency hard wired emergency phones in the parking garage. The contractor, when ready to test, shall communicate with the VA for performance verification. The contractor shall test out all call stations and verify with OI&T correct phone numbers. The contractor shall provide the results of the test to the COR. The contractor shall perform a clean Sweep after the work is completed. ).Contractors should have ready access to the latest versions of the following references: NFPA 70, National Electrical Code. NFPA 70B, Recommended Practice for Electrical Equipment Maintenance. NFPA 70E, Standard for Electrical Safety for the Workplace. OSHA Standard 29 CFR 1910, Subparts I & S. Operating/Maintenance manuals, and specifications of the electrical/electronic equipment to be used during maintenance and testing. f) Contractors shall have and provide all necessary supervision, tools, equipment, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to perform the work safely, effectively, and timely. Tools, equipment, and PPE shall comply with the requirements of OSHA Standard 29 CFR 1910, Subpart I, and NFPA 70E. Prior to working initiating work, Contractor shall provide documentation that all instruments, test equipment, tools and PPE have current calibrations. Dated calibrations labels shall be visible on all instruments, test equipment, tools, and PPE as appropriate.
