The US Naval Academy, Waterfront Readiness Department performs maintenance and repair on approximately 20 Yard Patrol (YP) craft used for propulsion training, seamanship and navigation. The Propulsion Alarm and Monitoring Control System (AMCS) on 6 of the craft have become degraded, causing several of the craft to be deemed Partially Mission Capable (PMC) or Not Mission Capable (NMC). An assessment of the Cimplicity SCADA architecture of the U.S. Naval Academy’s propulsion training vessel YP-705 in Annapolis, MD was conducted evaluating the vessel’s on-board Cimplicity SCADA system, applicable software licenses, network configuration, and the operator interfaces of the propulsion control system. The findings of the YP-705 inspection has determined the requirements to upgrade the Cimplicity SCADA systems on the Academy’s fleet of six propulsion training vessels - YP-703 through YP-708. See attached Combined Synopsis/Solicitation for further details.
