Description
THIS IS A PRESOLICITATION NOTICE ONLY – The Bureau of Reclamation, Technical Service Center located in Denver, Colorado has a requirement for archaeological monitoring of cultural resources along the Horseshoe fault and cultural resource surveying of sites along the Carefree fault in located on the Tonto National Forest (TNF) located in Arizona. The Contractor will need to demonstrate that it has a permit for archaeological survey on the TNF for the life of the contract. The tasks required are as follows but not limited to:

TASK 1 - MONITORING FOR THE HORSESHOE FAULT ACCOMPANIED BY RECLAMATION GEOLOGISTS

-        The Contractor will have the necessary permits from the TNF for the monitoring area, such as a valid archaeological permit for monitoring.
-        Develop a monitoring plan based on Class 1 literature review
-        The Contractor will ensure archaeological monitoring is conducted by a Secretary of the Interior (SOI) qualified archaeologist.
-        The Contractor will provide one (1) archaeology monitor for up to 7 days (10 hour days) in the field. Hiking to and from the field sites will average 3-4 miles a day across rough terrain.

TASK 2 - SURVEYING FOR THE CAREFREE FAULT WITHIN THE TONTO NATIONAL FOREST (APPROXIMATELY 13 ACRES)

-        The Contractor will have any necessary permits from the TNF for the survey area, such as a valid archaeological permit for survey.
-        The archeology survey is for two trenches that will be dug across the Carefree fault. The survey location is on the Tonto National Forest only.
-        Prior to initiating fieldwork for the cultural resource survey of trench locations on the TNF at the Carefree fault, the Contractor will conduct a Class I cultural resources literature review within a 1-mile radius of the survey area.
-        The Contractor will provide draft and final survey report and final geodatabase

This Pre-solicitation Notice is issued solely for informational, market research, and planning purposes only. It does not constitute a Request for Quote (RFQ) or a promise to issue an RFQ in the future. This Pre-solicitation Notice does not commit the Government to contract for any supply or service whatsoever. The Bureau of Reclamation is not seeking quotes at this time and will not accept unsolicited quotes. Respondents are advised that the United States (U.S) Government will not pay for any information or administrative cost incurred in response to this Pre-solicitation Notice.

All costs associated with responding to this Pre-solicitation Notice will be solely at the responding party's expense. Responses to the Pre-solicitation Notice will not be returned. Please be advised that all submissions become Government property and will not be returned. Not responding to this Pre-solicitation Notice does not preclude participation in any future RFQ, if any is issued. Responses to this notice are not offers and cannot be accepted by the U.S Government to form a binding contract. It is the responsibility of the interested parties to continue to monitor the Beta Sam Opportunities (www.betasam.gov) site.

The Bureau of Reclamation, Technical Service Center, Denver, Colorado plans to award a Firm Fixed Price purchase order with tasks to be completed within one year from date of award. This Pre-solicitation Notice seeks to provide information to interested parties about potential opportunity for archaeological services in Arizona. This office plans to post a solicitation on or about October 10, 2024.
