Hanley House Cedar Roof Replacement Project

The City of Clayton is accepting sealed bids for the Hanley House Cedar Roof Replacement Project. Bids will be received by the City of Clayton Director of Parks and Recreation, 50 Gay Avenue, Clayton, MO 63105, until 2:00 P.M. CDT, on Friday, July 10, 2026. The bids will then be publicly opened and read aloud at The Center of Clayton, Meeting Room B at 2:05 P.M.
The project includes the replacement of the cedar roof system on 4 buildings in Hanley Park. Hanley Park is located at 7600 Westmoreland Ave, Clayton MO 63105. Bid documents will be available from the city’s website: www.claytonmo.gov/bids starting Monday, June 22, 2026.
Due to the July 4th holiday occurring during the bid period, two optional pre-bid meetings have been scheduled to give contractors adequate time to view the site and ask questions. The meetings will be held at Hanley Park Pavilion 7600 Westmoreland Ave. Clayton, MO 63105 on:
Following the conclusion of both pre-bid meetings, an addendum will be issued to provide all bidders with a summary of the questions and answers discussed. Attendance at one or both meetings is optional, and bidders are not required to attend in order to submit a bid.
Questions regarding this project should be directed to Justin Whipple, Superintendent of Parks, City of Clayton. All questions shall be submitted in writing via email to jwhipple@claytonmo.gov. No questions will be accepted after 5:00 PM on Tuesday, July 7, 2026. The City intends to issue a Notice to Proceed on or before August 3, 2026.
Not less than the prevailing hourly rate of wages shall be paid to all workmen performing under this contract in this area according to the rates determined by the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations of the State of Missouri. A bid security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid amount must accompany each bid in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders.
The City reserves the right to accept or reject any bid and waive any irregularities in the best interest of the City.
