***ONLY ONLINE BIDS WILL BE ACCEPTED FOR THIS RFB.*** Emailed and hard copies delivered by any method WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. On this line, Bidders must enter $0.00 for Contract Amount in the e-procurement system. Actual Contract Amount must be entered on "Official Bid Docum 23122AMLBAML (Morton Lane Slide Reclamation Project) Hopkins County, Kentucky Project Description The 23122AMLBAML (Morton Lane Slide AML Reclamation Project) is located in Hopkins County, Kentucky, at N 37°13'38.4", W 87°25'38.7" will reclaim approximately 14.5 acres adversely affected by previous coal mining operations. The project consists of reclaiming a 5-acre landslide and eliminating approximately 2.5 acres of poor water quality mining pits. The pits will be backfilled with slide material and on-site mine spoil material to create positive drainage with transitions as required. Blasting will not be permitted. The water in the pits will be treated and raised to a pH of 6 or greater prior to release and backfilling of the pit in accordance with KYDAML Technical Specifications. Work for this project will involve the removal of trees measuring over 3 -inches in diameter at breast height (DBH) at the project location outside of exempt unstable areas and this cutting shall occur from October 15th March 31st, when the imperiled forest-dwelling bats are either within or in the immediate vicinity of their winter hibernacula. The clearing of trees over 5 DBH, which also display characteristics such as shaggy, exfoliating bark, or crevices and hollowed-out cavities within their trunks and larger limbs is also required outside of the exempt unstable areas, and consultation with United States Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) has taken place. The slide will be excavated to the templates shown in the drawings, basically at a 5h:1v slope with a 10 ft wide diversion bench every 100 ft horizontally. If solid competent bedrock is encountered prior to achieving the designed slope, the excavation will follow the rock line until returning to the designed slope. If acidic spoils are encountered in the slide or spoil piles, they shall be used first in backfilling the pit to eliminate the acid forming potential of these materials. This effort will require additional effort and may require double handling of some soils. Once all acidic spoils are placed in the pit, then slide materialwill be utilized in developing the positive drainage for the pits. Ditches consisting of both riprap and ECB will be utilized when necessary to control and establish drainage once the pit is closed. ECB diversion ditches will run to riprap down drains that will tie in the roadside ditch. The drop drains will be located as depicted on the design plans or as required by the Engineer. Drainage ditches will direct run-off into the existing mine pit/bench. Some select slide material can be placed as shown on the plans on the Willis property. Best Management Practices (BMP's) for sediment control will be utilized at all times and any necessary silt control will be in place prior to any backfilling the pits or excavating the slide. Rock checks will be placed as needed in steep slope areas. Roadside ditches will be improved to allow for greater flow. Roadway stone will be placed on all gravel accesses and used as necessary during the project and at the conclusion of the project. Roadway ditches will be cleaned out and ECB or Class II will be installed as directed. HDPE culverts will be installed as shown on the plans. Concrete will be used to grout the Class II at the outlet of the culvert installed beneath Morton Lane. Revegetation efforts will be performed according to AML Specifications. Lime will be spread at 15 tons to the acre. Fertilizer will be 18-46-60 at a rate of 0.375 tons per acre. The seed mix for the site will be an AML mix broadcast at 80 pounds pure live seed per acre. All other aspects of revegetation will conform to the technical specificatio
