Description
The Province, as represented by the Minister of Forests, through BC Wildfire Services (“BCWS”), invites Responses from Respondents to provide Danger Tree Specialist Services for wildfire response, as further described in section 3 of this NRSA.
Danger Tree Specialists are used for incident oversight of work site timber hazards, coordinating danger tree safety processes and collecting hazard and fire impact data on dangerous trees found in the workplace. The Danger Tree Specialist will participate in briefings, debriefings and incident planning and have the necessary skills to effectively communicate timber hazards to workers. The Danger Tree Specialist should have knowledge of safety in forestry activities, forest surveys, identifying causal impacts of fire on trees, providing documentation of site assessments and consolidating risk assessment specific for the task being conducted in the forest environment.
Respondents must propose a minimum of one Danger Tree Specialist. Respondents may propose providing Services in more than one Fire Centre in their response if they have a Business Location in that Fire Centre.
The Province intends to enter into Standing Arrangements with 15 top highest scoring Respondents who meet the requirements of all Stages set out in section 7, including meeting, all qualification criteria and any minimum scores associated with the rated criteria.
The anticipated term of each Standing Arrangement is from April 1, 2026 to March 31, 2028. Each Standing Arrangement will contain an option to extend whereby the Ministry reserves the right, at its sole option, to extend the Standing Arrangement for two (2) additional one-year periods.
