1.1 SUMMARY
A. Project Identification: New Hope Lateral Sewer Improvements

1.2 WORK COVERED BY CONTRACT DOCUMENTS
A. The Project consists of furnishing all labor, materials, equipment and incidentals required to
complete work in its entirety as shown on the Drawings and specified herein.
B. Perform work complete, in place, and ready for continuous service. Work includes permits,
testing, cleanup, repairs, replacements and restoration required as a result of damages
caused during construction.
C. Comply with all applicable municipal, county, state, federal, and other codes.
D. Work includes, but is not necessarily limited to the following:
1. Installation of approximately 368 linear feet of HDPE sanitary sewer pipe via pipe
bursting, including all necessary modifications and connections to existing manholes to
complete the work.
2. Removal and replacement of approximately one (1) precast concrete manhole using
conventional open-cut methods.
3. Implementation of bypass pumping, as required, to maintain continuous service within
the active sanitary sewer conveyance system.
4. Restoration of all disturbed surfaces and application of erosion prevention and sediment
control measures.
1.3 CONTRACT
A. Project will be constructed under a general construction contract.

SECTION 01 12 16
WORK SEQUENCE
PART 1 - GENERAL
1.1 SUMMARY
A. Perform work in an orderly manner to cause the least disruption to Owner's activities and the
operation of the existing sanitary sewer collection systems.
B. Where necessary to prevent or minimize interruptions of existing collection system
operations, schedule work for system tie-ins or flow transfers during low demand periods.
C. No time extension or increased cost claims will be considered for overtime work as a result
of completing work in accordance with the requirements established herein.
1.2 SUBMITTALS
A. Submit to Engineer overall plan of construction.
1.3 PROJECT SITE CONDITIONS
A. All access onto the existing site must be coordinated with Engineer and Owner prior to
access. All access points must be secured and remain secured throughout the construction
period.
1.4 SEQUENCING AND SCHEDULING
A. The existing facilities comprise a fully functioning gravity sewer system. Conduct all work in
a manner which will not interrupt or jeopardize system operations or cause permit violations.
B. Coordinate all required bypassing with Owner and provide a minimum of 72 hours prior
notice.
C. Sequencing:
1. Clean and perform CCTV inspection of the project area.
2. Install erosion and sediment control Best Management Practices (BMPs) prior to any
land-disturbing activities.
3. Complete rehabilitation work as indicated in the contract drawings, while conducting
bypass operations concurrently in the most practical manner.
4. Perform required testing and final cleanup.
5. Place the system into service.
6. Restore all disturbed surfaces to a condition equal to or better than preconstruction.
