Description
The Ministry of Forests is seeking proposals from qualified and experienced forest professionals for forest service road (FSR) inspections, prescriptions and heavy equipment project monitoring (e.g. FSR maintenance, emergency repairs, deactivation).
This Request for Proposal (RFP) is focused on providing the above services in the Selkirk district, “Arrow Zone” as shown on the EN26DSE002 – Selkirk District Overview Map. The Arrow Zone includes Castlegar, Trail, Slocan, & Nakusp, to name a few areas.
This contract has a one-year duration, and this agreement may be renewed for a further two terms of 12 months each, (additional 24 months total), by written agreement of the parties, subject to satisfactory performance by the Contractor and the availability of funding by the province. Refer to Schedule A. Section 3 for more information.
The quantity and type of works listed are dependent on program funding and project priorities, which can vary from year to year, and will be “as and when required”. Road maintenance projects and road inspections are planned for the Arrow Zone 2025 field season. Road deactivation works are not planned for 2025 in this zone but as this RFP has an option to renew there is a desire to have qualified key personnel available to do these works should the need arise in the future/next year.
FSR inspections and field prescriptions must be completed when roads are “snow free” to ensure accurate data collection and prior to October 15th in the same calendar year that the field work is completed, to ensure program goals are achieved.
Further details of the scope of this opportunity, requested services and the requirements can be found within this RFP and Schedule A.
