INVITATION TO BID
Owensboro Municipal Utilities will receive sealed bids until 2:00 P.M. (CST) on January
15, 2026 (prevailing time) at which time bids will be opened and read aloud for the:
BID No. 26-01-002
SALE OF SCRAP MATERIALS
Owensboro Municipal Utilities (OMU) is soliciting bids for the sale of various scrap materials. These
items are listed on the “Pricing Proposal” pages along with their respective quantities (pounds) and
include 1) covered copper wire/conductor; 2) bare copper wire/conductor; 3) dirty copper/brass
tube pipe; 4) junk electric and water meters; 5) flood lights; 6) cobra head street lights; 7) covered
aluminum wire/conductor; 8) bare aluminum wire/conductor; and 9) aluminum/copper
wire/conductor. The “Scrap Accumulation Report” on page 30 provides an itemized list of the
skids/pallets for each material.
Materials are located at the OMU Warehouse located at 2070 Tamarack Road, Owensboro, KY
42301.
All materials are offered “as is”, “where is” and without warranty, expressed or implied, and with
any and all faults which may be present. Awarded bidder(s) shall be required to sign the separately
attached form “Owensboro Municipal Utilities Material for Bid Receipt and Release” prior to pick-
up and removal of material(s).
Bids must state a price for each individual item of interest listed on the “Pricing Proposal” pages.
Lump sum pricing for multiple items is not permitted and will not be considered. Bidder is not
required to bid on all items, but can bid only on the item(s) they are interested in.
The disclosed quantities may increase by the time of pick-up by awarded bidder(s). Awarded
bidder(s) would be informed of any possible increases in the scrap quantities and are required to
purchase such increased quantities at the quoted firm pricing of the awarded item.
