ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS/PUBLIC NOTICE TO BIDDERS
Sealed proposals will be received at the office of the Mayor, 51 East Market Street, Tiffin, Ohio
44883, until 10:00 a.m. (Local Time) on August 20, 2026 and will be opened and read immediately
thereafter for the
SHAWHAN AND 2ND AVENUE SEWER REPLACEMENT PROJECT - OPWC PROJECT
NUMBER CP08AD
OPINION OF PROBABLE CONSTRUCTION COST: $566,970
The scope of work consists of removing 1,160 linear feet of existing brick sanitary sewer and four
manholes, and replacing with new sewer pipe and manholes. The project also includes reconnection of
laterals, installation of one additional manhole, and restoration.
The bid specifications, drawings, plan holders list, addenda, and other bid information may be
obtained from the Tiffin Public Works Department. Only electronic versions of the bidding
documents will be available. Electronic bidding documents will be provided to the plan holder at
no charge by contacting publicworks@tiffinohio.gov. All prime contractors bidding the project
must obtain their plans and bidding documents directly from and be plan holders with the Public
Works Department. Bids must be in accordance with the specifications and on the forms available from
the Public Works Department and must be submitted in a sealed envelope marked Shawhan and 2nd
Avenue Sewer Replacement Project.
Each bidder is required to furnish with its proposal a Bid Guaranty and Contract Bond in accordance with
Section 153.54 of the Ohio Revised Code. Bid security furnished in Bond form, shall be issued by a
Surety Company or Corporation licensed in the State of Ohio to provide said surety. Each proposal must
contain the full name of the party or parties submitting the proposal and all persons interested therein.
Each bidder must submit evidence of its experiences on projects of similar size and complexity. The
owner intends and requires that this project be complete no later than June 30, 2027. All contractors
and subcontractors involved with the project will to the extent practicable use Ohio products, materials,
services, and labor in the implementation of their project. Additionally, contractor compliance with the
equal employment opportunity requirements of Ohio Administrative Code Chapter 123 is required.
Bidders must comply with the prevailing wage rates on Public Improvements in Seneca County and the
City of Tiffin, Ohio as determined by the Ohio Department of Commerce, Bureau of Wage and Hour
Administration, 614.644.2239.
