Summary

OhioMHAS Fiber Optic Installation and Testing Project, Rhodes State Office Tower

OhioMHAS occupies office space at the State of Ohio, Rhodes Office Tower (SOT) on the 7ᵗʰ, 8ᵗʰ, 11ᵗʰ, 27ᵗʰ, 33ʳᵈ, and 36ᵗʰ floors, and has switching equipment located on each of those floors. OhioMHAS is moving switching equipment from the 7ᵗʰ floor (MDF) to the 36ᵗʰ floor (new MDF). Due to this equipment move, new fiber runs will be required to facilitate network connectivity between these mfloors.

OhioMHAS is seeking bids to perform the following work:

  1. The selected vendor will install “direct runs” of multi-mode fiber optic cables (12-strand, 6-pair) from the 7ᵗʰ, 8ᵗʰ, 11ᵗʰ, 27ᵗʰ, and 33ʳᵈ floors to a new MDF on the 36ᵗʰ floor.
  2. The selected vendor will run fiber optic cables that are:
  3. The selected vendor will provide and install rack mounted LIU’s for the 36ᵗʰ floor MDF as required for the installation/termination of all installed fiber optic strands.
  4. The selected vendor will provide and install LIU’s for each IDF closet on the 7ᵗʰ, 8ᵗʰ, 11ᵗʰ, 27ᵗʰ, and 33ʳᵈ floors (1 IDF closet on each floor) as required for the installation/termination of all installed fiber optic strands. Rack mount LIU’s are most preferred, however if this is not possible due to lack of available rack space, wall mounted LIU is acceptable. Final decision should be made by coordinating with MHAS network engineers
  5. The selected vendor will provide and install splice trays as required for the installation/termination of all installed fiber optic strands within each MDF and IDF closets (36ᵗʰ floor MDF; 7ᵗʰ, 8ᵗʰ, 11ᵗʰ, 27ᵗʰ and 33ʳᵈ floor IDF’s)
  6. The selected vendor will provide and install adapter blanks for all blank/unused locations within each LIU (if any)
  7. The  selected  vendor  will  provide  and  install  Multi-mode/LC  pigtails  as  required  for  the installation/termination of all installed fiber optic strands
  8. The selected vendor will provide and install adapter panels as required for the installation/termination of all installed fiber optic strands, and will also be Multi Mode (MM)
  9. The selected vendor will provide and install multi-mode “LC – to – LC” duplex patch cords of the appropriate length for each installed and terminated fiber optic strand pairs (Corning brand)
  10. The selected vendor will test and certify all installed fiber optic cables according to BICSI standard, and provide certification results to OMHAS in PDF format
  11. The selected vendor will label, with machine generated outdoor vinyl labels:
  12. The selected vendor will provide “as installed” cable path diagrams for each fiber run in PDF format to OMHAS
  13. The selected vendor will supply and install all firestop material accordingly (muffin, caulk, putty)
  14. The selected vendor will supply and install all appropriate grounding to the existing racks within each closet as required
  15. The selected vendor will provide a scope of work and quote for old cable removal on the 7th floor in PDF format to OhioMHAS

OhioMHAS staff will be available to facilitate a walk-through of the location by appointment only and must be completed prior to bid submission and deadlines (if requested). Walk-throughs will be scheduled on a Wednesday (01.29.2025) or Friday (01.31.2025) only. Walk-throughs must be requested 72 hours prior to schedule day/time requested.
Process

OhioMHAS requires a statement of work to be attached to your bid proposal for the required materials and services that have been outlined in the summary section of this sourcing project.  Any responses that do not include a statement of work/proposal document and will not be considered.

OhioMHAS also requires that suppliers have previous experience completing simliar work at the Rhodes State Office Tower, located at 30 East Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio 43215.. Any responses that do not outline that the supplier has previous experience completing simliar work at the Rhodes State Office Tower will not be considered.

Selection will be based on the lowest responsive and responsible complete bid packet.
