Brief Description of Work
BC Housing is seeking a Consultant to develop comprehensive elevator maintenance and service knowledge documentation. The Consultant shall produce deliverables based on three (3) work packages:Research Report Maintenance Matters Consumer Bulletin Educational Events (Webinar)
The safe and successful performance of elevators in residential buildings benefits all building residents. Any disturbances can cause a significant inconvenience for residents and is particularly detrimental for people with limited mobility such as seniors, new parents, and those with disabilities.
Consistent, thorough, and timely maintenance is key to prevent any breakdowns in elevators. It is therefore critical to educate homeowners on proper elevator operation, maintenance, service contracts, renewal planning, breakdown response, and insurance claims.
This project is managed by BC Housing in partnership with the Condominium Homeowners Association (CHOA) and supported by Technical Safety BC (TSBC), Landlord BC, and the BC Ministry of Housing. A steering committee for the work is being formed with individuals from all stakeholders.
