Description

Pursuant to N.C.G.S. 143-129, sealed proposals endorsed LEDC Elevator Modernization, FB26143will
be received by City/County Purchasing until 3:00 PM, March 19, 2026, when they will be publicly opened
and read aloud in City Hall Room 16, 101 N. Main Street, Winston-Salem, NC. If three bids are not received,
the project will be re-advertised. Forsyth County reserves the right to waive any informalities in the bidding
and to reject any or all bids.

A MANDATORY pre-bid conference and facility tour will be held at 10:00 am, March 3, 2026, at the
Forsyth County (Law Enforcement) Detention Center, 201 N. Church Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27101.
Forsyth County will not consider bids from prime bidders who do not have a representative attend this
mandatory conference. To enter the facility, interested bidders must submit a background check form
-- at least 10 business days in advance of this meeting -- for a County background check. Note: attendees
are advised to bring copies of the plans and a camera to conduct proper due diligence during this facility tour.

Scope of Work: This is a repair and maintenance project for the existing elevators and dumbwaiters located
in the Forsyth County Law Enforcement Detention Center (LEDC) constructed in 1991. The LEDC has a
North Tower and a South Tower. There are four (4) traction elevators and one (1) hydraulic elevator in the
North Tower and three (3) traction elevators and two (2) dumbwaiters in the South Tower.
The LEDC Elevator Repair and Maintenance Project work shall be completed in the following five (5)
PARTS and Sequence. Each PART must be completed and have received a Certificate of Occupancy before
work on the next PART is started.
