Larry Simmons Re-Turf Project

The City of Alabaster is currently accepting proposals for re-turfing Larry Simmons Stadium.

The City’s requirements are set out in Appendix A.

The City will accept bids on the following:

  1. Removing existing turf and approximately 75% of existing fence post.
  2. Getting base back to acceptable condition for new turf
  3. Installing new turf

Qualifications:
Please answer the following questions regarding your organization and bid. Please be as specific as possible.
1.         Credentials:
a. In one page or less, describe and explain your organization.
b. Please list three (3) references and their contact information, that you have similar contracts with or have served and include dates of service. Additionally, please ensure that of those, two (2) references are from government, public or nonprofit organizations. The City of Alabaster reserves the right to contact any and all references listed as well as any other entities that your organization does business with and to determine your responsibility as a bidder.
2.        Pricing Information: Please enclose a list of those items you propose to offer and a unit         cost and pricing list pertinent to your bid as well on the attached form.
3.        Expectations the Bidding Party would have for the City of Alabaster: Please out-line any         and all expectations, being as specific as possible, your organization would have for the         City of Alabaster should your bid be chosen, including time frames for sub-mission of sizes,         quantities, and logos, and digital artwork.
4.        Compliance: The Successful Bidder(s) must comply with all local, state and federal laws.
5.        Award: The City shall award the contract to the lowest responsible and responsive bidder.

Section Four: Scoring Criteria
Pricing in conformity to requested product /services                100 Points
Specifications in conformity to requested bid                        100 Points

Special Requirements:
1.        Remove and Dispose of Existing turf
2.        Remove and dispose of approximately 75% of existing fence post.
3.        Remove and save approximately 75% of existing fence mesh.
4.        Fence and post on concrete area around and behind fieldhouse to stay as is.
5.        Remove track and field pits at west end of field and prepare for turf
6.        Prepare existing base for instillation of new turf. Minor grading may be needed in certain areas.
7.        Install new synthetic turf slit-film or dual fiber(slit-film/monofilament) with a sand and rubber infill system or approved equal system. Must be able to provide a minimum 1-year warranty. For reference this field will be mainly used by youth football players 6 to 12 years old. It could occasionally host soccer or Lacrosse up to 18 years old as well but on a limited basis.
8.        Provide an add alternate for cooling fill system as well.
9.        Laydown area for materials and equipment will be available on-site.
10.        Include football (AHSAA specs), soccer and lacrosse markings on new installa-tion. Soccer and Lacrosse markings may be modified to fit in the project area. Markings need to be different colors accept where lines intersect and are the same boundary for multiple sports (in those areas white will be the default). (Football-White, Soccer-yellow, Lacrosse-TBA)
11.        3 Logos will be required. Midfield Large Logo (2 color minimum Spear to mirror THS field), 25-yard line southwest small logo (1 color-white city logo), 25-yard line southeast small logo (1 color-white city logo).
12.        FB endzones to be Black with WARRIORS (2 color Red/White) in both East and West endzone.
13.        Project completion should be at substantial completion by Friday, August 1st 2025.
