This addendum forms a part of the Contract Documents and modifies the original Bidding
Documents dated March 2026 as noted below. Acknowledge receipt of this Addendum in
the space provided on the Bid Form. Failure to do so may subject the bidder to
disqualification.
Due to the number of questions regarding the project and the addenda needed to respond,
the bid due date has changed to April 2, 2026, at 10:00 AM.

6 Sealed bids for the construction of the Salina Municipal Solid Waste Landfill Facility, Scale House and
7 Entrance Improvements will be received for the City of Salina, Kansas, represented by the Public Works
8 Department, Engineering Division, by the City Clerk.

10 Bids will be received at City/County Building, 300 West Ash Street, Salina, KS 67401 until 10:00 o’clock
11 A.M., central standard time on Thursday, March 26, 2026, and shortly thereafter the bids will be opened
12 publicly and read aloud in Room 206.

14 GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF WORK

16 The work performed under this contract shall include the demolition of the existing scale house and truck
17 scale and the construction of a new scale house with two truck scales—one inbound and one outbound—as
18 shown on the Construction Drawings. The project also includes improvements to the site layout and
19 installation of new pavement and parking areas.

21 The work to be performed for this contract includes, but is not necessarily limited to, demolition of the
22 existing scale house and truck scale, including removal and proper disposal of all associated materials.
23 Earthwork will be required to achieve subgrade elevations for new pavement, parking areas, and building
24 foundations. The contractor shall prepare the site by stripping and stockpiling topsoil, grading, and
25 compacting structural fill in accordance with the specifications.

27 Construction of the new scale house shall include all architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and
28 plumbing components necessary to provide a fully functional facility. The building shall be constructed in
29 accordance with the plans and specifications, including installation of doors, windows, finishes, and utility
30 connections. The contractor shall also install two new truck scales—one inbound and one outbound—
31 complete with foundations, approach slabs, and all required connections to ensure proper operation.

33 Site improvements will include placement and compaction of aggregate base, installation of asphalt
34 pavement, and construction of concrete pads, curbs, and sidewalks as indicated on the drawings. The
35 contractor shall provide all materials and labor necessary to complete these improvements, ensuring proper
36 drainage and compliance with design grades. Associated work includes grading and drainage improvements
37 to support the new facilities, as well as installation of any required stormwater controls.

39 The contractor shall coordinate all utility services necessary for the operation of the scale house and truck
40 scales.

42 The contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, and incidentals required to complete the work
43 in accordance with the Contract Documents. The contractor is responsible for all aspects of construction,
44 including earthwork, pavement installation, building construction, and coordination of utility services.
