Set-aside under the Procurement Strategy for Indigenous Business:
This procurement is open to both Indigenous and non-Indigenous businesses. All interested suppliers may participate. However, suppliers are to note that this requirement is subject to a preference for Indigenous suppliers and will be set-aside under the federal government Procurement Strategy for Indigenous Business (PSIB) if Canada receives two or more responsive bids from Indigenous businesses who meet the requirements of the PSIB.

Nature of Requirements:
The following is a summary of the statement of work for this requirement.
The Correctional Service Canada has a requirement to provide translation services including terminological research, on various general and specialized documents for the Correctional Service of Canada Regional Headquarters Prairies, Institutions and District offices.
The contractor must provide translation services in both official languages English and French. CSC estimates that 70% of the work will consist of translating text English to French and 30% will be translation of French to English. Document size may vary between 20 to 20,000 words. Historically, based on previous year’s translation requests, the total annual volume is 750,000 words. This data has been provided to Bidders to assist them in preparing their bids. The inclusion of this data in this bid solicitation does not represent a commitment by Canada that Canada's future usage of the service identified in this bid solicitation will be consistent with this data. It is provided purely for information purposes.
Approximately 25% of the documents CSC submits for translation will be handwritten and 75% of documents will be in typed format. The contractor must submit all translations in typed format.
Objectives: Provide translation services in both official languages.
Deliverables: The contractor must perform the work using Microsoft Word software compatible with Correctional Service of Canada’s current version of Microsoft Word. The contractor must be able to accept documents in pdf format.
Any conditions for participation of suppliers not specified in solicitation documentation: none.
