    Aviation Walk Connector and Aviation Museum Connector
    Hickory, North Carolina
    Sealed bids for the project entitled BL-0067/BL-0115 will be received by the City of Hickory at
    76 North Center Street, Hickory, North Carolina 28601 until 2:00 PM local time on Thursday,
    May 14, 2026. At said place and time, all Bids that have been duly received, will be publicly
    opened and read aloud in the City Hall Council Chamber Room.
    THE PROJECT GENERALLY CONSISTS OF the furnishing of all materials, labor and
    equipment for the construction of a 0.582 mi long multi-use path along roadway sections between
    17th St NW Extension and Aviation Walk Trail along Clement Blvd NW and 19th St Ln NW (BL-
    0067) and between 21st St NW and 19th St NW, and along 21 St NW between Clement Blvd NW
    and 9th Ave Dr NW (BL-0115) and all associated work including, but not limited to, grading,
    paving, drainage, and retaining wall.

    In order to be prequalified to bid, Bidders must be registered on the Interested Parties List
    no later than one business day prior to the advertised letting date. To be included on the
    Interested Parties list, please email Kelly Winkler – kwinkler@hickorync.gov with: Company
    Name, Contact Name, Contact Email, Contact Phone Number, Contractor Type (Prime or
    Subcontractor). The interested parties list will be posted at https://www.hickorync.gov/purchasing
    and updated periodically.
    Each bid shall be accompanied with a cash deposit or certified check drawn on a bank or trust
    company insured by the FDIC or a Bid Bond prepared on the form of Bid Bond contained in the
    Bidding Documents or a Surety Company's standard form and properly executed by a corporate
    surety licensed under the laws of North Carolina to execute such bonds. The amount of the bid
    bond shall be equal to five (5) percent of the total of the bid. The bid deposit shall be retained by
    the Owner if the successful bidder fails to execute the contract or fails to provide the required
    bonds, as stated above, within ten (10) days after the proper notice of award of the contract.
    All Bidders must be prequalified by NCDOT as a Prequalified Bidder or PO Prime for their
    specific discipline and must comply with the requirements of the State of North Carolina and be
    appropriately licensed as a Contractor as provided in General Statutes Chapter 87. Before
    beginning work, subcontractors of all levels must be prequalified by the NCDOT to perform the
    specified work codes. The application to prequalify as a Prequalified Bidder, PO Prime, or as a
    subcontractor on any level contract can be located online and available here:
    https://connect.ncdot.gov/business/Prequal/Pages/default.aspx. The application must be
    completed to demonstrate sufficient ability and experience in related construction projects to
    perform the work, sufficient and readily available equipment to perform contracts in a timely
    manner and a completed Safety Index Rating Form.

    Bidders are encouraged to only secure project bid documents as noted above. Neither the Owner
    nor the Engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including any
    Addenda, obtained from any source other than the Engineer and their representative plan provider.
    Each Bidder shall be responsible for the review of all addenda for the project and shall
    acknowledge the addenda on the bid form.
    All bids shall be in accordance with Section 102 of the 2024 Standard Specifications and any award
    of the contract will be made in accordance with Section 103 of 2024 Standard Specifications.
    The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all Bids, to waive informalities, or to reject non-
    conforming, non-responsive, or conditional bids. The Owner reserves the right to award a contract
    to the lowest, responsive, responsible bidder or bidders, taking into consideration quality,
    performance, and time.

    30, 2026 to receive consideration.
