SS-19-022 (Hitachi) Thales ATC Maintenance & Support

The Purpose of this announcement is to express the intent of The Jacksonville Transportation Authority to award a Sole Source Contract to Hitachi Rail GTS USA, Inc. (formerly Ground Transportation Systems USA, Inc dba Thales Transport and Security), the original equipment manufacturer, to provide Automatic Train Control (ATC) Maintenance and Support. This service will be provided 24 hours a day, 7 days per week and will have a Customer Call Center Phone Number to reach a Technical Support Specialist.

The Skyway train control system is a proprietary system from Hitachi Rail GTS USA, Inc (formerly Ground Transportation Systems USA, Inc dba Thales Transport and Security). This system was designed for the Skyway on behalf of Bombardier Transportation in our original construction and implementation of the entire Skyway System. Only the original equipment manufacturer, Hitachi Rail GTS USA, Inc (formerly Ground Transportation Systems USA, Inc dba Thales Transport and Security) has access to the design specifications and any technical support must be provided by the original equipment manufacturer. Hitachi Rail GTS USA, Inc has exclusive rights to the train control system that they manufacture.
