The Mercer County Department of Human Services, Division of Mental Health, is accepting proposals for the period of one year (January 1, 2025 – December 31, 2025) with the option to extend for an additional year (January 1, 2026 – December 31, 2026), to develop a Community Resilience Program which will provide an array of healing-centered support services for indigent Mercer County youth and their caregivers in the amount of $112,000.00.
The purpose of this funding is to augment existing sources of support through the establishment of a Community Resource Program to support suicide prevention and resilience enhancement among youth and adults through a healing-centered approach to service provision which will offer time-sensitive, in-community services including, but not limited to, emotional support, care coordination, information and referral, cross-system intervention and direct assistance with system navigation. This holistic approach to service provision will ensure in-community access to services to address trauma, build emotional resilience, promote community healing and support connection with other needed services. It will utilize concepts of the Community Resilience Model. Service provision approaches are trauma shielding and/or trauma reducing, with practices that are collaborative, reflective and promote growth and prevention as well as a culture of learning. We encourage services to be offered within coordinated networks. Applicant agencies may offer proof of coordination such as consortia or affiliation agreements, letters of endorsement, or other means.
