ALUMINUM PRESSURE VESSELS AND FLUID-CARRYING PIPE LINES ARE NOT MISCELLANEOUS
METALS.
6. CONTRACTOR SHALL SUBMIT SHOP DRAWINGS AND CALCULATION WITH THEIR APPROVAL STAMP
TO THE DESIGN PROFESSIONAL FOR REVIEW PRIOR TO FABRICATION AND CONSTRUCTION.
COMPLETE DETAILING OF SHOP AND FIELD WELDING USING AMERICAN WELDING SOCIETY SYMBOLS
SHALL BE SHOWN ON THE SHOP DRAWINGS. INCLUDE PLANS, ELEVATIONS, SECTIONS,
DETAILS, MATERIAL SPECIFICATIONS AND ATTACHMENTS TO OTHER WORK. ATTACHMENTS TO
OTHER WORK SHALL BE FULLY DETAILED FOR ALL CONDITIONS AND CONFIGURATIONS OF
EVERY CONNECTION.
7. ALL SHOP DRAWINGS AND CALCULATIONS ARE TO BE PREPARED, SIGNED, AND SEALED BY A
PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER REGISTERED IN THE STATE OF GEORGIA. DESIGN CALCULATIONS
SHALL ALSO INCLUDE CALCULATIONS FOR EACH CONNECTION CONDITION AND CONFIGURATION.
TO OTHER WORK INCLUDING SHOWING DESIGN FORCES APPLIED TO OTHER WORK.

SPECIAL STRUCTURAL INSPECTIONS:
A. SPECIAL INSPECTIONS
1. SPECIAL STRUCTURAL TESTS AND INSPECTIONS SHALL BE PERFORMED ON THIS
PROJECT IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF CHAPTER 17 OF THE
IBC 2024 BUILDING CODE AND ALL GEORGIA STATE ADMENDMENTS.
2. SPECIAL STRUCTURAL TESTS AND INSPECTIONS SHALL BE PERFORMED BY AN
AGENCY SELECTED BY THE DESIGN PROFESSIONAL WHICH MEETS ALL OF THE
REQUIREMENTS FOR APPROVAL INDICATED IN IBC 2024 SECTION 1704. SPECIAL
INSPECTORS SHALL BE QUALIFIED PERSONS WHO SHALL DEMONSTRATE COMPETENCE
FOR INSPECTION OF THE PARTICULAR TYPE OF CONSTRUCTION OR OPERATION
REQUIRING SPECIAL INSPECTION.
3. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE THE INSPECTION SERVICES IN
ACCORDANCE WITH THE PROGRESS OF THE WORK. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL
PROVIDE SUFFICIENT NOTICE TO THE INSPECTOR TO ALLOW PROPER
SCHEDULING OF PERSONNEL.
4. THE COSTS OF THE SPECIAL INSPECTOR'S SERVICES SHALL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY
OF THE OWNER. COSTS OF INSPECTION SERVICES WHICH ARE EXEMPTED UNDER
CHAPTER 17 AND SPECIFIED IN THE PROJECT SPECIFICATIONS, SHALL BE
PAID FOR BY THE CONSTRUCTION MANAGER AT RISK.
B. REPORTS
1. SPECIAL INSPECTORS SHALL KEEP A RECORD OF ALL INSPECTIONS PERFORMED.
COPIES OF ALL INSPECTIONS SHALL BE FURNISHED TO THE DESIGN PROFESSIONAL
WITHIN 48 HOURS OF THE INSPECTION.
2. REPORTS SHALL INDICATE THAT THE WORK WAS PERFORMED AND CONSTRUCTED
IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS. WORK WHICH DOES NOT
CONFORM TO THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS SHALL BE IDENTIFIED IN THE REPORT
AND SHALL BE BROUGHT TO THE IMMEDIATE ATTENTION OF THE CONTRACTOR.
3. INTERIM REPORTS OF INSPECTIONS DOCUMENTING REQUIRED SPECIAL
INSPECTIONS INCLUDING ANY DISCREPANCIES NOTED IN THE INSPECTIONS
SHALL BE SUBMITTED TO THE DESIGN PROFESSIONAL PRIOR TO COMPLETION
OF THE STRUCTURAL SYSTEMS BUT AT A FREQUENCY NOT TO EXCEED 60 DAYS.
IF ITEMS IN THE SPECIAL INSPECTION SCHEDULE ARE NOT COMPLETED WHEN
REQUIRED OR, IN THE OPINION OF THE SPECIAL INSPECTOR ARE FOUND TO BE
NOT APPLICABLE, THE DESIGN PROFFESIONAL SHOULD BE NOTIFIED
IMMEDIATELY TO DISCUSS/RESOLVE SAID ISSUES. THE CONTRACTOR MUST
NOT WAIT UNTIL ISSUANCE OF THE FINAL REPORT TO BRING THIS TO THE
ATTENTION OF THE DESIGN PROFESSIONAL.
