Description
Description
The State of Iowa currently uses Evidentiary Breath Testing Devices (EBTs) in Law Enforcement Operations. These EBTs are used by multiple entities throughout the state including but not limited to the Department of Public Safety, Division of Criminal Investigation and individual municipalities.
The State currently uses the Datamaster DMT from Intoximeters (manufacturing rights previously owned by NPAS). The current evidential breath alcohol testing instrument has been deployed in the State of Iowa for over 14 years. The State of Iowa has secured funding to replace the current model with a unit that meets, or exceeds, all the testing and reporting protocols found within the model currently deployed. Software within the unit must be configurable to meet current protocols and future modifications.
