Roadwork-REMOVE 1 CULVERT PIPE & SUPPLY&INSTALL OF 2 CORRUGATED STEEL PIPE CULVERTS hwy 927 TL-40m
Synopsis:
REMOVAL AND DISPOSAL OF ONE 1 500 mm CULVERT PIPE and SUPPLY AND INSTALLATION OF TWO 1 800 mm CORRUGATED STEEL PIPE CULVERTS ON HIGHWAY No. 927, approximately 106.0 km north of Candle Lake with Highway No. 120; for a TOTAL INSTALLATION LENGTH OF 40 m.
The bridge that was in this location has been completely destroyed by recent forest fire. The Ministry's operation crew has put in a temporary pipe culvert in order to open the road for emergency services. This temporary pipe culvert will not be able to handle the regular flow through of this section of the stream during the regular spring flow following the winter. As well due to the size of the culvert needed, this type of construction can not be done properly during the winter months once the ground has started to freeze. Due to these conditions this project is considered urgent and must be completed as soon as possible.
