NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD TO A SOLE SOURCE -- COX CABLE

NOTICE OF INTENT. THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT AND IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) Fleet Logistics Center San Diego (FLCSD) intents to award a firm fixed price contract to COX California Telcom, LLC 5159 Federal Blvd, San Diego CA 92109. Under the authority of FAR 13.106(1) only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The requirement is to provide 300 MB down/50 MB up internet services required to meet operational goals and mission critical training at the Surface Warfare Medical Institute (SWMI). SWMI supports both Independent Duty Corpsmen (IDC) training and Navy Drug and Alcohol Counselor School (NDACS) with approximately 200 students enrolled yearly. COX already has the infrustructure installed within SWMI and this contract would just renew the current internet plan SWMI is on.
