Summary

The County of Solano, Department of General Services - Countywide Services , hereinafter referred to as the "County", intends to secure a contract with a qualified Proposer to perform exterior Pest Control Services. The qualified contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment and materials necessary to conduct a comprehensive assessment of all applicable buildings and facilities throughout Solano County. The contractor shall develop and implement a customized Integrated Pest Management Plan (IPM) for each County building identified herein, designed to prevent, monitor, and effectively control pest activity while minimizing risks to occupants, property, and the environment.

Services shall include, but not be limited to, the identification and treatment of common pests such as rodents, insects and birds; routine inspections and monitoring of pest activity; and the implementation of safe, environmentally responsible, and effective pest control methods in accordance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Regular inspections shall be conducted to evaluate treatment performance, identify emerging pest concerns, and recommend corrective actions as necessary. The contractor shall maintain accurate and detailed records of pest activity, treatments performed, chemicals utilized, inspection findings, and corrective measures taken, and shall provide periodic written reports summarizing pest control efforts, trends, and overall program effectiveness.



Background

Solano County is the nineteenth largest California County as measured by population with a total population of over 450,000. The County has seven incorporated cities: Fairfield (the County seat), Benicia, Vallejo, Vacaville, Suisun, Rio Vista, and Dixon with the majority of residents residing within these cities. Solano County’s population is growing, particularly in the northern portion of the County.
