NYS Fire Academy Training Grounds - Asphalt Improvement

The Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services (DHSES) is seeking one qualified vendor who can provide us with asphalt improvement services at our NYS Fire Academy Training Grounds, 205 S Lhommedieu St., Montour Falls, NY 14865. The scope of work is as follows:

Area #1- Junk Car Lot- 7,000 sq.ft.

• Excavate existing gravel area 10”. Remove spoils.
• Add 6” of item 4 gravel.
• Fine grade and compact.

Supply & Place:

• 0” compacted thickness of Binder
• 0” compacted thickness of Topper

Seam Seal – 100 LF

Area #2- Water Mapping Prop- 700 sq.ft.

• Excavate existing topsoil area – 10” depth. Remove spoils.
• Add 6” item 4 gravel.
• Fine grade and compact.

Supply & Place:

• 5” compacted thickness of Binder
• 5” compacted thickness of Topper

Seam Seal – 40 LF

Area #3- Hazmat Training Area – 2500 sq.ft.

• Excavate 4”of existing gravel and use in areas 1 and 2.
• Fine grade and compact.
• No subbase needed

Supply & Place:

• 5” compacted thickness of Binder
• 5” compacted thickness of Topper

No Seam Seal needed

Area #4- Flagpole- 2200 sq.ft.

• Excavate and remove 4” of existing gravel – use to grade road & use

in areas 1 and 2.

• Fine grade and compact.
• No subbase needed

Supply & Place:

• 5” compacted thickness of Binder
• 5” compacted thickness of Topper
• Seam Seal – 60 LF

Area #5- Rear Parking- 9000 sq.ft.

• Excavate and remove 4” of existing gravel – use to grade road & use

in areas 1 and 2.

• Fine grade and compact.
• No subbase needed.

Supply & Place:

• 5” compacted thickness of Binder
• 5” compacted thickness of Topper

No Seam Seal needed

Work to be completed between the hours of 7:00AM- 3:00PM.

Work Days – Monday – Friday

Award will be made to one best price vendor, quotes must be all inclusive and without tax. Responsive bidders must include completed documents (Quote, Substitute W9, Appendix A, Procurement Lobbying Form and insurance documents). Vendor must accept a NYS issued Purchase Order for payment. The awardee will be provided proof of tax exemption.

Agency Rights:

1. Reject any or all quotes received in response to the solicitation.

6. In the event of unsuccessful negotiations with the selected bidder, conduct contract negotiations with and/or award the contract to the next responsive and responsible bidder.
