Synopsis:

Purpose of this Advance Proposed Procurement Notice

This is an advance notice for the procurement of a Contractor to complete a culvert replacement near Michel Village. Please note that all quantities and project details are subject to change. This tender will have a shortened advertising period and will have an early completion date. The work is expected to take place as early as June 2025. Tender documents will be added to Sasktenders when available. The Ministry reserves the right to not proceed with advertising this work.

Description of the Procurement

The roadway on Highway No. 925 (Control Section 925-02 km 7.66, approximately 4.3 km northwest of the junction with Chief Thomas Billete Rd. near Saint Georges Hill) has partially washed out due to spring runoff. The existing 1-1200 mm x 16 m long culvert will need to be replaced including the installation of riprap aprons, erosion control and gravel surfacing repairs.

Estimated quantities of materials (subject to change):

The following quantities are initial design estimates and are subject to change in the issued tender documents.

Proposed culvert: 1 – 1400 mm x 19 m long, galvanized corrugated steel pipe, 125 mm x 25 mm corrugations, 2.0 mm wall thickness, and 1 – 800 mm x 14 m long, galvanized corrugated steel pipe, 68 mm x 13 mm corrugations, 2.0 mm wall thickness, 1 standard coupler
Granular Backfill – 160 m3
Riprap Type 2 – 90 m3
Traffic Gravel – 24 t

Approximate Embankment Height = 3.58 m

The contractor will be responsible for supplying borrow material, granular backfill, geotextiles, crushed aggregate, riprap, traffic gravel, and erosion control materials to replace the culvert.
