REQUEST FOR QUOTATIONS (RFQ)

FOR WESTWOOD GRADING PROJECT

The City of Newton, Iowa is seeking competitive quotations for the public improvement hereafter described.  Contractors qualified to perform the work are invited to submit competitive quotations, pursuant to the requirements of Section 26.14 of the Iowa Code.

1. Description of the Public Improvement Work to be Performed Pursuant to This Solicitation.

The public improvement work for which the city is seeking competitive quotations is generally described as follows:

2025 WESTWOOD GRADING PROJECT

Project includes 1100 CY of class 10 excavation, waste on sight at location decided by City staff, 185 CY of topsoil strip, salvage and respread and the removal of 4 trees of various widths, and one flag pole removal located at the Westwood clubhouse building location. The work shall commence upon issuance of the Notice to Proceed, and shall be completed on or before May 30, 2025.

2. Plans and Specifications.

Plans and specifications for Westwood Grading Project are available for inspection in the office of the Community Development Director 303 W 4th St N, Suite 501, Newton, Iowa, or by contacting the Community Development office 641-792-6622 ext. 2318

3. Site Visit.

Interested contractors are further advised that a site visit may be arranged by contacting Nick Cummings, Parks Operations Superintendent, at 641-792-6622 ext. 2312.

4. Time, Place and Manner for Filing Competitive Quotations.

Competitive quotations for Westwood Grading Project shall be filed in one of the below manners to the office of the Community Development Director 303 W 4th St N, Suite 501, Newton, Iowa, on or before 11:00 am on April 10th, 2025.
