The County Commissioners of Kent County, Maryland, a body corporate, politic and a political subdivision of the State of Maryland (the “County”) is requesting proposals in accordance with Chapter 49 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Kent County (CPLL) from construction firms with qualified staff in wastewater treatment facilities equipment installation.
The purpose of the project is to provide demolition and installation of the replacement of two parallel ultra-violet disinfection systems located at the County’s Tolchester wastewater treatment plant located at 22010 Bayshore Road Chestertown MD 21620.
The County has pre-purchased the replacement equipment. The equipment is manufactured by the same company that provided the original installation.
A Pre-Bid Meeting is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on March 13, 2026, at the Tolchester WWTP, 22010 Bayshore Road, Chestertown, MD 21620 . All interested offerors interested in making an additional site visit shall contact the Director of Purchasing to make arrangements for access.
All questions concerning this RFP must be submitted in writing or via email to Daniel F. Mattson P.E., CFM, CME, Director of Public Works, at dmattson@kentgov.org, no later than 4:00 p.m. on March 20, 2026. Responses to questions will be issued by written addendum.
Sealed proposals must be received no later than 11:00 a.m. on March 31, 2026 , and will be publicly opened at that time at the Kent County Department of Public Works, 709 Morgnec Road, Chestertown, Maryland 21620.
Late proposals will not be accepted. Kent County reserves the right to reject any or all proposals.
