The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to award a sole source, firm fixed price contract to AJ-ALLEGHENY SYSTEMS LLC, for the Kardex Maintenance Agreement.
CDC’s Respiratory Health Division, Surveillance Branch requires a maintenance agreement for the motorized Kardex EL2000 X-ray Filing System installed in the Coal Workers’ Health Surveillance Program area – for one (1)- 12-month base year with three 12-month option years. The system is needed to store several hundred thousand x-rays in a small area allowing access to all shelves, utilizing movable shelving units.
AJ-Allegheny Systems must perform the maintenance as they are the only qualified vendor that permits for the system’s warranties to remain valid.
This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 12.102(a) (FAR Overhaul) and 41 U.S.C. 3304(a)(1). The North American Industry Classification System code for this procurement is 541512 - Computer Systems Design Services. Interested persons vendors may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals.
This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, all responses received within five (5) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
