Title: RNG Maintenance Shop and Office Building
Addenda: 1
Release Date: 11/14/2025
Due Date: 1/8/2026
Dane County is seeking bids from qualified contractors for the RNG Maintenance Shop and Office Building , located at 7202 Maahic Way Madison, WI 53718 . This project involves the construction of a combined office and maintenance shop building to service the needs of the Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) Facility located at Dane County Landfill Site No. 2, and the demolition of the existing maintenance shop upon completion of the new building, and is being delivered under a lump sum contract.
The goal of this project is to upgrade outdated infrastructure and provide RNG staff with permanent office space and break area. Work is expected to be performed in coordination with landfill operations and RNG facility operations , and must comply with all applicable county specifications, ordinances, local permitting requirements, or prevailing wage laws.
Interested vendors should have demonstrated experience in site civil and building construction and the ability to manage projects of similar size and complexity. A pre-bid meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, December 2, 2025 at 10:00 am at 7102 Maahic Way, Landfill Trailer next to Scale House , and all questions must be submitted by Friday, December 12, 2025 . Bid packages are due by Thursday, January 8, 2026 at 2:00 pm .
The existing RNG maintenance shop is undersized and no longer meets the operational needs of the RNG facility. It lacks sufficient storage capacity for equipment and materials, and it does not provide adequate workspace for operators to efficiently perform daily duties. Additionally, staff are currently relying on temporary office facilities in a trailer, which offers limited functionality and does not meet the requirements for proper meeting or administrative activities.
The proposed new building will address these deficiencies by providing appropriate storage, workspace, and staff support areas. As part of this project, the existing building will be demolished.
Key considerations for vendors include the limited available staging area, the need to coordinate closely with landfill and RNG operations during Work Hours, and the requirement to maintain clean and safe work zones. Effective communication and coordination with site staff will be essential. The County encourages all bidders to thoroughly review site conditions and propose solutions that align with project goals and remain within the defined scope and specifications.
