Summary

The Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation (BWC) is an agency of the State of Ohio, responsible for administering the workers’ compensation insurance program in Ohio.
Medical Services is responsible for ensuring an effective infrastructure support is in place to facilitate the goal of the Health Partnership Program (HPP) which is to provide prompt, quality, cost-effective healthcare to injured workers facilitating injured workers ability to remain at work or experience an early safe return to work and quality of life.
Medical Services in support of section 4121.44 and 4121.441 of the Ohio Revised Code, execute activities of the Health Partnership Program (HPP). The HPP as of March 1, 1997, has been BWC’s system for providing managed care services to injured workers to address the results of an allowed workplace injury. Thus, Medical Services coordinates BWC’s health-care services through a network of providers and managed care organizations (MCOs).

Please consider this as the State of Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation’s Request for Quotation to procure an ICD-10 Analyst, Medical Coder, or Certified Coding Specialist for BWC Medical Services Division.
Should an order be placed as a result of this process, selection will be based upon the lowest responsive and responsible Bidder and/or Supplier. A Tax Exemption Certificate will be available upon request.

Minimum Requirements:
Proficient in diagnosis coding using ICD-10-CM and in coding procedures using CPT and using
nationally recognized correct coding guidelines
Current coding credentials from AHIMA (CCS, RHIT, or RHIA) OR AAPC (CPC)
At least 2 years’ experience in ICD-10-CM diagnosis and CPT coding
Ability to handle time-sensitive coding issues

Work schedule and location:
Ability to work at BWC location, 30 W. Spring St., Columbus, Ohio
Ability to Work 40 hours per week , 8 hours each business day (State holidays excluded)
Ability to work during core BWC business hours between (8:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.); specific
hours to be agreed upon by BWC and coder/vendor
