CALL FOR BIDS

Electronic bids via BidVault will be received until 11:00 A.M., March 19, 2026, by the Board of

Commissioners, Chippewa County, Minnesota, at the office of Michelle May, County Auditor/Treasurer,

Courthouse, Suite 2, 629 North 11th Street, Montevideo, MN 56265 for the purpose of awarding a

contract for the construction project listed below. Bids will be opened and reviewed immediately after the

hour set for receiving bids. Read carefully the Wage Scales as they affect this project.

Minimum wage rates to be paid by the contractor(s) have been predetermined and are subject to the Work

Hours Act of 1962, P.L. 87-581. Those, which apply to this project, are set forth in the proposal for this

project:

SAP 012-604-022: Grading, aggregate base, culvert replacement, drain tile replacement,

and replace bridge 91331 (154”x97”x88’ precast concrete arch pipe) with new 14x8

precast concrete box culvert (new bridge 12J81)

Approximate major items of work include: 2,827 ft of remove pipe culverts, 200,679 CY of excavation -

common, 210,145 CY of common embankment, 19,554 CY of excavation-special, 4,120 CY of

Aggregate Base/Surfacing Class 5 Mod, 95,801 SY of full depth reclamation, 82,331 SY of mill

bituminous surface (4.0”), 102 ft of 14x8 precast concrete box culvert with 2 end sections, 1 bridge

removal, 14,879 CY of structure excavation Class U, 15,537 CY of granular backfill, 61 each of 15” to

48” GS safety aprons, 2,402 ft of CS pipe culvert from 15” to 48”, 36 each of 18” to 42” RC pipe aprons,

1,378 ft of RC pipe from 18” to 42”, 2,026 ft of 6” to 24” TP pipe drain, 510 ft of 4” to 6” perf drain pipe,

313 ft of 18” HDPE pipe sewer, drainage structures, 170 tons of Class III rip rap, traffic control, 4,745 ft

of erosion log, 1,690 ft of silt fence, 74 acres of seeding, 3,006 pounds of seed mixture 24-142, 13,443

pounds of hydraulic bonded fiber matric and other miscellaneous items.

Plans and Proposals may be inspected at the office of the Chippewa County Highway Engineer, 902

North 17th Street, Montevideo, MN 56265.

Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check or bidders bond made payable to Chippewa County in

a sum not less than 5% of the bid. See Proposal for acceptable forms of a bid bond.

The County reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to wave any informalities therein and to accept

the bid deemed most advantageous to the County.
