2026 Trip Hazard Mitigation - RFP Advertisement

The City of Orem is accepting sealed proposals from qualified and licensed Contractors for construction to mitigate trip hazards at sidewalk locations throughout Orem, UT. The project will consist of all work required to eliminate sidewalk trip hazards including labor, demolition, saw-cutting, grinding, landscape and sprinkler restoration, roadbase, grading, concrete flatwork, surfacing, materials and equipment.

Proposal documents will be available online August 20, 2025, at utah.bonfirehub.com (Select the search bar > enter “City of Orem” > search). Sealed proposals will then be accepted online at BonFire or by the Office of Purchasing, 56 North State Street, Orem, Utah 84057 until September 10, 2025, at 10:00 am. Proposals submitted after this deadline will be rejected. Upon review, the business or individual best meeting the needs of the City will be contacted for further action. The City of Orem intends to make an award using the evaluation criteria listed in the RFP to determine the best value including pricing and other factors in the submitted proposal (see Section III in this document for evaluation criteria).

The City of Orem reserves the right to accept or reject any or all proposals or any part of any proposal if it is deemed to be in the best interests of the City. For questions regarding the RFP and project clarifications contact Tom Nisson at (801) 229-7331 or Jacob Bird at (801) 229-7317

It is anticipated that construction will begin after all contract documents are signed and returned to the City. Construction will be completed by a date to be specified in the Notice to Proceed document. Prior to bidding the project contractor will be required to visit the proposed project site and become familiar with the existing conditions, restrictions, inspect site conditions, preparatory work, equipment required, facilities, required testing, inspecting etc. associated with this work. The purpose of the site visit is to gather data or additional information through inspections or examinations necessary to perform the work according to the specifications in this RFP.
