Description
Oregon State University intends to contract for the provision of Quantom Tx Microbial Cell Counter from Northern Focus Optical as a sole source because of the contractor being the single provider of the goods and/or services. OSU has a Research need to count bacteria in samples for research to quantify the amount and type of bacteria used to treat concrete. The Quantom Tx counts fluorescence-stained microbial cells through automated fluorescence imaging and analysis to produce accurate and objective bacterial counts. It meets the specifications needed listed below:
- Cell detection method: automated fluorescence microscopy
- identification of gram negative and gram positive bacteria
- Processing time: 1 minute to capture and analyze 20 images
- Sample concentration range 1x10^5 to 1x10^9 cells/mL
- Cell range 0.3-50um
- 5-6 uL load volume (0.17 uL in 8 cell counting slides)
